Sequicentennial Token

Provincial News

This copy to Mark Secretaries from W. Bro. J. Dollery, Secretary St John 50

Could you please promulgate this info if you know of any attendee from you lodge.?
When you read this info you will understand that I need help in making contact because it was not thought through to the 'n th ' degree.!

Message reads
I would first apologise to you for the extended delay in delivering the intended project - that of supplying the MMM Token celebrating.the Sequicentennial Meeting.

I will not bore you with details, suffice to say the project has been traumatic.

I now hope to shortly fulfill the promise and supply the special Sesqui Token - but first I have to urgently honour the aggreement made with the supplier and return the loaned Tokens which were actually issued at the Sesqui meeting.

I did not think this through properly at the time and am not in possesion of all names and addresses of those who attended. Several were booked in as guests and others telephoned or sent emails. At this stage I am using as many email contacts as I have and would ask you to please verbally communicate this current project to whomever you can - if you personally know they actually attended - in order to make a contact list for the actual changeover from the token supplied to the actual intended celebration token.

There are two actions now required by you personally if you attended the meeting:-

1. Decide if you wish to keep the Token Supplied at the meeting - which means you will need to pay for it (Cost is £3)
2. Deliver to me (by post preferably due to the urgency of making the return) the Token supplied at the meeting if you do not wish to keep it.

In either case I should receive from you an envelope with a contact address, Token, or payment (Cheques made payable to St.John 50 Lodge of MMM)

I will use the contact address to dispatch the Sesqui Tokens to you as soon as I have them.

For either option - Please dispatch as soon as possible to me at:-

J.Dollery
323 St.Levan Road
Plymouth
PL2 1JP

Include the token in your envelope or the payment and ensure I have a return postal address.

Finally - there may be some among you who would wish to have extra Sesquicentennial MMM Tokens other than the free one which will be issued. Of course this will be possible and all you need to do is indicate in the same return envelope as above, how many you require ( cost of the Sesqui coin is not fixed as yet but likely to be somwere between £4.50 to £6.50). I can then place final quantity orders.

I would point out that you should give extra tokens serious thought if you are a collector or wish to use them as gifts and let me know now. The manufacturer will usually insist on large quantity orders and when the lodges 48 & 50 have their own initial stock - it will be a long time before either of them are in a position for further expense in placing quantity orders just to hold stock for possible sale.

Yours S & F
John Dollery
Secretary St.John 50
